Dragon King Lotus Seed Katana
The lotus seed's cycle (rising from mud to bloom, then falling back to begin again) is a recurring symbol of enlightenment and rebirth in Buddhist tradition. This Dragon King katana carries that theme through violet cotton tsuka-ito shifting into a gold and purple sageo against a deep, dark lacquered saya.
The blackened tsuba, fuchi, and kashira are worked into a lotus seed pod motif with copper seed accents, and silver dragonfly menuki sit beneath the grip wrap. The 27 1/2" blade is forged T10 steel, clay-tempered with a genuine irregular (midare) hamon. At 41 1/4" overall, this is a lighter, faster-handling katana suited to quick cutting.
