Dragon King Miao Dao Chinese Long Saber

The Miao Dao ("grain leaf" sabre) traces back to the mid-16th century, when General Qi Jiguang revived the design to counter pirate raids along China's coast during the Ming Dynasty. Its long blade and extended handle gave soldiers reach and two-handed leverage against these raiders, and the weapon remained in use against later threats to the Ming Empire.

This Dragon King reproduction features a 34 3/4" forged 5160 high-carbon steel blade paired with an 18" leather-wrapped wood-core handle, brushed stainless steel guard and pommel, and a dragon head blade collar. The lacquered scabbard includes a brushed steel belt ring set for edge-up carry, finished with a stainless steel chape and throat.
