The francisca is a Frankish hand axe used widely by early medieval Germanic warriors, including the Franks and Vikings, in close-quarters combat. The upswept point and downturned edge were designed to punch through mail armor and shields on impact.
This reproduction is forged by Paul Chen at the Hanwei factory. The head is high-carbon steel with a fire-gray finish, mounted on a swelled-end hardwood shaft for secure retention. A solid choice for display, reenactment kit, or hands-on study of the original form.
