Red Dragon Armoury Synthetic Sparring Longsword

The Red Dragon Synthetic Sparring Longsword is a durable synthetic sword designed for controlled sparring and partner drills. Its synthetic construction provides a low-maintenance alternative to steel while offering handling characteristics suitable for structured practice. Unlike traditional wooden wasters or shinai, the blade is engineered to flex in the final third toward the tip, helping reduce impact during controlled thrusts. A full-length high-tensile steel reinforcing rod runs through the handle, strengthening the blade-to-hilt assembly and minimizing the handle flex commonly found in molded synthetic swords.

The rounded guard and pommel are designed to reduce hard edges during controlled contact, while the thermoplastic elastomer grip provides a secure hold and helps absorb vibration from strikes. The modular Red Dragon system also allows many hilt components to be interchanged, making it possible to create different sword configurations using the same blade platform.
